Stadium Upgrade for SEA Games 2021

The 31st Southeast Asian Games will be hosted by Vietnam and they plan to hold 36 sports at the biennial meet.
Hanoi was chosen to be the centerpiece for competition events and major upgrades are expected to happen to the capital city before SEA Games 2021 commence.
One sport facility planning to be upgraded is the Hang Day stadium.

Hang Day stadium will be turned into an international sports complex  with a capacity of 20,000 people and will be adding several facilities including cinemas, event centers, parking basements and convenience stores.

The new complex would cost over VND6.3 trillion ($270.4 million), with funds raised from investors who operate the stadium for 50 years, the report said.

The complex has an expansion area to 32,000 square meters from the current 22,000 square meters. 

Scheduled to last 17 days, as well as the Para Games, for 11 days, SEA Games 2021 is scheduled between October to December in 2021.
