Only four events are contested at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia. These two individual events ( for men & for women's divisions) and two relay events for both divisions. 

 

The competition will be held at Chory Changvar Car Park with qualifying rounds on May 3 to 5 and the finals on May 6 to 7.

#SEAGames2023 News | Obstacle Race Athletes Tested at the 2023 Ninja World Cup

The first Ninja World Cup is organized and produced by the Pilipinas Obstacle Sports Federation (POSF) in collaboration with World Obstacle. The event was held from March 31 to April 2 in ArcoVia City, Pasig City, Metro Manila.

 

Host Philippines dominated the event participated by eight countries mostly coming from Southeast Asian teams such as Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia.

 

This event tested those athletes going to the 32nd SEA Games who will compete in Obstacle Sports or Obstacle race.

Obstacle course race is one of the sports to be contested in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games which will be hosted by Cambodia this coming May. Four gold medals are at stake in this biennial meet - two individual events ( for men & for women's divisions) and two relay events for both divisions.

 

The competition will be held at Chory Changvar Car Park with qualifying rounds on May 3 to 5 and the finals on May 6 to 7.

#SEAGames2023 News | Obstacle Sports is Back in Cambodia SEA Games

 

Obstacle Sports makes a comeback as one of the featured sports for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia. The last time obstacles sports was included in SEA Games as medal sports was in 2019 SEA Games in Manila. This was the inaugural inclusion of the sports in the biennial meet with 6 events.

This coming SEA Games, obstacle sports will have 4 events, two individual events (for men & for women) and two team relay events (men's team & women's team). The team relay will be composed of 4 athletes for each gender divisions. 

The course is said to be be a short linear 100m course with 12 different obstacles.

Philippines who introduced the sports in SEA Games is favorite to win most of the events in Cambodia but challenges coming from Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos and host Cambodia are threats to be considered for this sports as they already have the idea and techniques of the sport.

 

But before the 32nd SEA Games, there will be 2023 Ninja World Cup Asia to be held in the Philippines this coming March 31 to April 2 at the ArcoVia City in Pasig City. This is part of 2023 Ninja World Cup series that will take place in different countries. The next series is the World Cup USA set on the month of July. 

 

The said event will likely attract ninja athletes especially those that will compete in SEA Games. 

 

The 32nd Southeast Asian Games is scheduled from May 5 to 17 to be held mainly in Phnom Penh City.

 

 

4 Obstacle Course Race (OCR) Events in SEA Games 2023

The Obstacle Course Race (OCR) is among the initial 39 sports approved by the Southeast Asian Games Federation for the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.

SEA Games 2019 News 051: Obstacle Course Race Reinstated As Regular Sport

Last week, it was reported that obstacle course race was relegated to as demonstration sport for the 30th Southeast Asian Games to be hosted by the Philippines.

To become a regular sport in SEA Games, it should have at least four participating countries.

It was previously known that only host Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore intended to compete for the sport.

But this time, a turn of event came for obstacle course race as Laos has agreed to compete for the biennial meet.

But the entry of Laos will be official only if they submit their entry form by number to the SEA Games organizing committee.

Hopefully this will happen within this week according to Pilipinas Obstacle Sports Federation (POSF) president Atty. Alberto Agra.

Obstacle course race has six events namely individual 100-meter and 5-km races (for men and women) and mixed team 400-meter race (team assist and relay).

SEA Games 2019 News 004: Obstacle Course Race Debuts

Obstacle Course Race (OCR) is one of the sports to be featured in the 30th Southeast Asian Games which will be held in the Philippines from November 30 to December 11 this year. 

The six events to be contested are the individual 100-meter and 5-km. races (for men and women) and mixed team 400-meter race (team assist and relay).

Obstacle Course Race will debut as a official sports of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games other than the 55 sports scheduled to be played in different venues in the Philippines.

The Philippines is eyeing to sweep all six gold medals at stake in the obstacle course race.
