Malaysia Women's Hockey team Miss Olympic Ticket to Paris

Malaysia's Women's Hockey team ended its Pool B campaign in the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers 2024 in Valencia, Spain with 0W-3L record and bids goodbye to its Olympic dream in Paris, France.  

Malaysia was defeated by host Spain in their first match, 0-7 and another defeat from Canada on the following day, 0-3.

Their last game was against Great Britain that resulted to 1-8 loss. Malaysia will now play for classification round.

The qualifier is being held at the Estadio Beterodi from January 13 to 20 with 8 competing teams divided into two groups where top two teams from each group advancing to semifinals. Only the top 3 teams will qualify to Paris Olympics.

Singapore Qualifies for 2022 Asian Games Women's Hockey

June 14 Result | Team Singapore was defeated by Kazakhstan, 0-2.

 

Despite the defeat, Singapore ended their qualifier campaign in 3rd place overall and is qualified for 2022 Asian Games to be held in China.

🏑 Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2018

The Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2018 is being held at the Sunrise Stadium in Donghae, Korea from May 13 to 20.

Five countries are competing for the title. These are China, Japan, Korea, India and our Southeast Asian team from Malaysia.

🏑 9th Women's Hockey Asia Cup 2017

The 9th edition of Women's Hockey Asia Cup 2017 was held in Kakamigahara, Gifu, Japan from October 28 to November 5. Eight teams which are divided into two groups contested at this hockey tournament for women.

Southeast Asian powerhouse Malaysia is group along with co-ASEAN team Singapore, China and India in Pool A while host Japan compted against teams from Kazakhstan, South Korea and another Southeast Asian team Thailand

Unfortunately, our Southeast Asian teams did not make it to the medal round. India beat China to claim the championship while host Japan suffered defeat from rival South Korea in the bronze medal match.

🏑 Hero Asia Cup 2017

The 10th edition of the quadrennial event took place at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh from October 11 to 22, 2017, and dubbed as "Hero Asia Cup 2017".

Southeast Asia's hockey powerhouse Malaysia made a championship appearance against team India.

In the group stage round-robin preliminary, Malaysia topped the teams in Pool B. They defeated China (7-1) before beating South Korea (2-1) and Oman (7-1).

The top two teams from both pools (called Super 4s group) battled in a round robin format to determine the top two teams for the championship match. 

Fortunately, Malaysia won over Pakistan (3-2), a draw versus South Korea and a defeat against India. The 1-1-1 card of Malaysia placed them in second behind India which topped the Super 4s group.

At the final day of the tournament, Pakistan took the 3rd place or bronze medal after beating South Korea, 6-3. While Malaysia failed to beat India in the championship match. The final match ended with a 2-1 scores. 

But still, a big congratulations to team Malaysia for placing runner up.

🏒 2017 IIHF Men's Challenge Cup of Asia (Top Division)

Six nations competed at the 2017 IIHF Men's Challenge Cup of Asia - Top Division.

The event took place at the skating rink of the Central Plaza Grand Rama IX shopping mall (Ice Rink Arena) in Bangkok, Thailand from March 17 to March 23 for Top Division.

Among the Southeast Asian nations that saw action in this tournament were Malaysia, Singapore and host Thailand in Top Division.

Thailand and Singapore battled out for third rank on the last day of competition. It was Thailand that shown an aggressive offense as they blanked Singapore in their final match, 12-0. They got the third place with three wins and two defeats. Singapore placed 4th over-all. On the other hand, Malaysia ended the tournament win less.

United Arab Emirates tops the tourney with a clean record of 5 wins  followed by Mongolia with 4-1 win-loss cards.
