I. About the 14th ASEAN Schools Games
The 14th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) is being hosted by Brunei Darassalam from November 20 to 28. This marks the second time Brunei has hosted this event, with the previous one held in 2015. The opening ceremony will take place on November 20 at the Indoor Stadium, while the closing ceremony will be held on November 30 at Setia Point.
This year's theme is "Dream, Strive, Achieve", adapted from the Bruneian proverb Bekarih, Bejarih, Belurih, which reflects the values of diligence, perseverance and hard work.
The ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) is an annual sporting event which aims to enhance friendship among students around the Southeast Asian region. It also seeks to promote ASEAN solidarity among the youth through school sports and provide opportunities for school athletes to engage in cultural exchange.

The official mascot named "Wira" is a fictional character that symbolizes the energetic, enthusiastic and superior character of a teenager. The name "Wira" was chosen for its brevity, memorability, and its alignment with the sporting theme of the games symbolizing the spirit of healthy competition among student athletes from Southeast Asian countries.
Wira wears modern sportswear reflecting the values of the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB). Additionally, the mascot sports futuristic glasses, which add an innovative and contemporary touch to its appearance. This mascot not only represents the fighting spirit and perseverance of the athletes, but also welcomes the presence of student athletes from all over Southeast Asia with joy and respect.
Overall, Wira depicts the resilience and tenacious spirit of the student athletes who strive to achieve success in sports in line with the motto of the 14th ASEAN Schools Games "Dream, Strive, Achieve", as well as a symbol of unity and inspiration in the ASEAN region.
