1st Jumpshot 3x3 Tournament

The inaugural edition of the Jumpshot 3x3 tournament was held at the Bukit Panjang Plaza in Singapore from January 6 to 7, 2024 attracting 10 teams in the women's division and 12 teams for the men's division.

 

After the two-day competition, CT Tigers of Thailand emerged as the Champion of the men's division followed by Malaysia Rising Star who settled for 1st Runner-Up. Meanwhile, Basketball Association of Singapore (BAS) Men Team-A took home the third prize.

Meanwhile, Philippines' TNT Triple Giga reached the quarterfinals but fell short to Singapore's BAS Men B, 19-17, who finish sixth overall out of 12 teams.

Meanwhile, Jose Blazquez of CT Tigers is chosen as the Most Valuable Player in men's division.

 

 

 

In the women's side, it was also the CT Tigers from Thailand who won the title defeating Yokohama GFlow in the finals while Uratex Dream from the Philippines took home 2nd runner-up prize. 

 

Rattiyakorn Udomsuk of CT Tigers is declared Most Valuable Player in women's division. 

 

 

 

FIBA 3x3 World Tour Manila 2023

 

Host Philippines represented by Manila Chooks team failed to win any of its matches in Pool A at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Manila 2023. The event was held in Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City from May 20 to 21 with 12 participating teams grouped into 4 Pools with 3 teams each. 

On the first day of competition, Manila Chooks suffered their first loss to UB Huishan NE of Serbia, 9-21,  followed by another defeat from Utsunomiya BREX EXE of Japan, 18-22.

With those results, Manila Chooks did not advance to the quarterfinals allowing the Serbian and Japanese teams to advance.

Manila Chooks is the only Southeast Asian team who competed in this 3x3 basketball tournament. 

As of writing, UB Huishan (Serbia) defeated Beijing team (China) in the first semifinals. The next semifinals is between San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Futian (China).

Philippines & Malaysia Falter in Penang Challenger

 

Team Cebu Chooks from the Philippines only reached the quarterfinals in the 3x3 Basketball Penang Challenger as they were halted by United State's Team Princeton, 17-22.

Team Philippines which is composed of Zachary Huang, Brandon Alfonso Ramirez, Mark Tallo and Vincent Tolentino were in Pool A with one victory over Team Zavkhan of Mongolia, 18-15 and falter to champion team Liman of Serbia, 17-22.

Meanwhile, host Malaysia which was represented by Team Penang Worldhoops was unable to enter the Pool round after it was eliminated in the qualifying pool round.

The team succumbed to Team Saitama Alphas of Japan (04-22) and to Team Lusail of Qatar (13-21).

Team Penang members were Yan Qing Goh, KimEng LOK, WeiMing Ooi and Slovenian Ales Kunc.

The Philippines ended in 8th place and Malaysia as 16th placer in the challenger event.

 

The 3x3 Challenger event was held in Malaysia from September 10 to 11 with 16 participating teams. 

SEA Games 2019 News 077: Same PH Team for FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup & SEA Games?

Philippine women's basketball team is participating at the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Changsha, China that will be held on May 22 to 26.

Team Philippines is grouped with Samoa, Vanuatu and Chinese Taipei for the qualifying draw of this tournament.

The three-day event will be participated by Philippines' best women representatives namely Janine Pontejos, Afril Bernardino, Clare Castro and Jack Animan.

The line-up for the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup could be the same line-up to be fielded in the forthcoming Southeast Asian Games which the Philippines is hosting.

For this case, it will be a good exposure and warm up for the 3x3 women's team going to the 30th SEA Games.

The four basketbelles will also be part of the 5-on-5 basketball team for the biennial meet.

Philippine men's team is also participating at the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in China.

Despite no SEA teams advances in the quarter finals (both men & women), Janine Pontejos of the Philippines won the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2018 Shoot-Out Contest! Congratulations!!!

Three Southeast Asian countries are ccompeting at the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup being held in Manila, Philippines from June 8 to 12.

Indonesia is competing in men's event while Malaysia battles in the women's side. Host Philippines enters in the men's and women's divisions.

But in the last minute, Indonesian women's team was invited to compete in replace of team Venezuela.

Unfortunately, no SEA teams qualify to the quarter finals. But the Philippines won the gold medal in the Shoot-Out contest.

🏀 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2018

Three Southeast Asian teams participated at the 2018 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup which was held in Shenzhen, China from April 27 to May 1.

Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand competed in both men and women events.

In Men's qualifying event, Thailand ranked 3rd in Pool 1A while Malaysia placed 5th out of 6 teams in the pool. Unfortunately, both teams failed to advance in the main draw of the event.

In Pool 1B qualifying round, Men's team of Indonesia also failed to go to the main draw as the squad placed 5th in the group.     

In women's division, only team Thailand went thru the qualifying round while teams from Indonesia and Malaysia were already seeded in the main draw.

In the main draw, Indonesia reached the quarter finals but was halted to advance in the semi-finals by much stronger team Australia.
