I. About the 14th ASEAN Schools Games

The 14th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) is being hosted by Brunei Darassalam from November 20 to 28. This marks the second time Brunei has hosted this event, with the previous one held in 2015. The opening ceremony will take place on November 20 at the Indoor Stadium, while the closing ceremony will be held on November 30 at Setia Point.

This year's theme is "Dream, Strive, Achieve", adapted from the Bruneian proverb Bekarih, Bejarih, Belurih, which reflects the values of diligence, perseverance and hard work.

The ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) is an annual sporting event which aims to enhance friendship among students around the Southeast Asian region. It also seeks to promote ASEAN solidarity among the youth through school sports and provide opportunities for school athletes to engage in cultural exchange.

There are 106 events in 8 sport disciplines being contested. These are athletics (30), badminton (6), basketball (2), netball (1), pencak silat (16), sepak takraw (3), swimming (38) and wushu (10). (Click Sports for more details)

Event venues include the Sports School (badminton), Indoor Stadium (basketball), Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex (netball), Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium (athletics), Pusat Belia (pencak silat), National Swimming Pool (swimming), Rimba II Secondary School (sepak takraw) and Universiti Brunei Darussalam Sports Complex (wushu).

The official mascot named "Wira" is a fictional character that symbolizes the energetic, enthusiastic and superior character of a teenager. The name "Wira" was chosen for its brevity, memorability, and its alignment with the sporting theme of the games symbolizing the spirit of healthy competition among student athletes from Southeast Asian countries.

Wira wears modern sportswear reflecting the values of the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB). Additionally, the mascot sports futuristic glasses, which add an innovative and contemporary touch to its appearance. This mascot not only represents the fighting spirit and perseverance of the athletes, but also welcomes the presence of student athletes from all over Southeast Asia with joy and respect.

Overall, Wira depicts the resilience and tenacious spirit of the student athletes who strive to achieve success in sports in line with the motto of the 14th ASEAN Schools Games "Dream, Strive, Achieve", as well as a symbol of unity and inspiration in the ASEAN region.

Brunei at the 13th ASEAN School Games

Brunei Darussalam Sports School Council (MSSSBD), Department of Co-Curriculum Education will send a contingent of 56 participants, comprising 33 student-athletes, 23 officers and staff, to the 13th AseanSchools Games (ASG) 2024 in Danang, Vietnam.

Team Laos at the 13th ASEAN Scool Games

Laos will compete at the 13th ASEAN School Games to be held in Da Nang, Vietnam from May 31 to June 9.

Team Singapore at the 13th ASEAN School Games

More than 100 student athletes from 24 schools will be representing Singapore at the 13th ASEAN School Games (ASG) in Da Nang, Vietnam from 31 May to 9 June 2024. The Singapore School Sports Team (SSST) contingent will compete in four sports, namely Athletics, Badminton, Basketball and Swimming.

Team Philippines at the 13th ASEAN School Games

Here are the name of student-athletes that will represent Team Philippines at the 13th ASEAN School Games in Da Nang, Vietnam from May 31 to June 9. The Philippines will compete in five sports in this annual sporting event. These are athletics, badminton, basketball, pencak silat and swimming. A total of 119 student-athletes will composed the team delegation.
