#SEAGames2021 News 021 | Vietnam and Philippines Shows Readiness in Esports

 

 
 
Vietnam and the Philippines shows readiness in esports that will be contested at the 31st Southeast Asian Games this coming month of May.
 
Host Vietnam which is still conducting the selection process through series of tryouts and eliminations (for some events) to achieve the best e-gamers to represent its country. Host Vietnam's goal is to achieve better results than their 2019 SEA Games campaign and of course win gold medals in this sport.

Meanwhile, Team Philippines will be represented by 54 athletes and will compete in all esports events. The selected players are based on the series of tryouts conducted by Sibol, the Philippines's national esports team. 

Based on the selection tryouts, Rise Nation and God Ascends will represent Team Philippines in Free Fire while Imperial Esports will compete in Arena of Valor.  

This will be the 2nd time that esports will be contested as a medal event in a multi-sport competition after the discipline was featured as a demonstration sport in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

At the 2019 SEA Games, Philippines won three gold medals while Vietnam bagged three bronze medals.
