The Philippines is fielding nineteen (19) strong athletes at this year's Olympics in Tokyo. The 10-woman and 9-man team will compete in 11 sports. This country is entered in 27 events with men's artistic gymnastics which has the most number of events

Philippines' youngest athlete to compete is 2021 U.S. Women's Open champion Yuka Saso (golf) at age 20 while the most senior of all competitors is Juvic Pagunsan.(golf) at 43. Philippines' average age is 25.

The Philippines has not yet won an Olympic gold medal since its appearance in 1924. But with its strong front runners like 2019 world champion in gymnastics' floor exercise Carlos Edriel Yulo, 2016 Olympic silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz, Yuka Saso of golf, Ernest John Obiena (pole vault) and all its boxing team lead by Eumir Felix Marcial, this country has a great chance of achieving its first Olympic gold medal. 

The Philippines is the only country from Southeast Asia that increase its number of participating athletes for Tokyo Olympics.
