SEA Games 2019 News 025: It's Time for Malaysian Women's Rugby

Malaysia's rugby seven team will have their own stadium as Youth Minister Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman said that work on stadium will start on November this year.

The long requested stadium will have two pitches of proposed location in Putrajaya, one for training and competitions.

It will also cater changing rooms and other facilities for the athletes.

This will be a good news for rugby athletes as it prepares for international competitions like SEA Games.

Speaking of SEA Games preparation in the Philippines, Malaysia is committed to bring intensive training programs for their women's team.

The women’s sevens team won their first-ever medal, a bronze, at the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games in 2017.

The ministry officials have also agreed to move up the national women’s rugby sevens team from tier 4 to tier 3.  The women's team would now get monthly training allowance plus other benefits.
