The Yonex Italian International 2017 was held from December 14 to December 17 at the PalaBadminton in Milano, Italy.
Bringing badminton glory to Southeast Asia is Nguyen Thuy Linh of Vietnam who won in the women's singles event.
Linh defeated Christophersen Line of Denmark in a 3-set finals, 24-22, 16-21 and 23-21.
Before reaching the women's singles finals, Linh defeated another Danish Anna Thea Madsen, 21-17 8-21 and 21-12.
Linh was the only Southeast Asian badminton player who finished with top prize at this competition.
Vietnam sent couple of players at this tournament but only Linh reached the top four.
Aside from Vietnam, Indonesia also sent its lone athlete in the name of Devi Yunita Indah Sari.
