I. About the 9th ASEAN School Games

The 9th ASEAN School Games (ASG) is to be hosted by Singapore from July 13-21, 2017. The city-state is to accommodate the student-athletes under the age of eighteen. This is the second time that Singapore is hosting the event after the 2011 ASG.
In this edition of ASG, ten (10) sports with 123 events is to be contested by our ASEAN youth athletes from the ten (10) SEA nations. This year's theme is "Together as One".

The ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) is an annual sporting event which aims to enhance friendship among students around the Southeast Asian region. It also seeks to promote ASEAN solidarity among the youth through school sports and provide opportunities for school athletes to engage in cultural exchange.
The ASG student-athletes, including those from Singapore schools, will be housed at the Games Village at National University of Singapore's University Town.

    Myanmar and Timor Leste did not participate in this edition of ASG while the Philippines return the games after one year hiatus.

    This is the first time that the sport of tenpin bowling is featured at the ASEAN School Games.
