🏋️‍ 2017 IWF Junior World Championships

The 2017 IWF Junior World Championships was held in Tokyo, Japan from June 15 to June 23. 

Only Thailand and Vietnam from Southeast Asia competed in this World Championships. 

Both nations collected medals in this competition.

Vietnam's Gia Thanh Lai won the silver medal in men's 56kg event lifting a total weight of 249kg.  Lai also landed second place in the snatch division and got first place in the clean & jerk. 

Meanwhile, Thailand celebrated when Thunya Sukcharoen won the gold medal  in the women's 48kg. She topped in both snatch and clean & jerk divisions among 13 competitors. Next to her is her fellow compatriot Chiraphan Nanthawong winning silver medal. Nanthawong placed 3rd in snatch and 2nd place in the clean & jerk. 

Meanwhile, Rattanaphon Pakkaratha won the bronze medal in the women's 58kg category. She placed 4rd in the snatch while she got the first place in the clean & jerk routine.
Lastly, Duangaksorn Chaidee clinched the silver medal in the women's +90kg category. She lifted a total of 260kg. She placed 3rd in the snatch while she placed 2nd in the clean & jerk.
