2nd ASEAN School Games 2010


The 2nd ASEAN School Games (ASG) took  place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The games was held from July 12 to July 22, 2010. The Philippines and host Malaysia debuted in this annual event.

Ten (10) sports were contested at the second edition of ASG which included the sports of athletics, badminton, basketball, golf, gymnastics (artistic & rhythmic), hockey, netball, sepak takraw, swimming and volleyball. 

The sports of hockey and netball debuted this year while table tennis and lawn tennis were out in the competition's lists. 

First timer Malaysia snatched the overall championship from Thailand by collecting 45 gold, 37 silver and 24 bronze medals. Inaugural champion Thailand placed second overall with 32 gold, 32 silver and 33 bronze medals. And landing on third place was Indonesia with 14 gold, 16 silver and 19 bronze medals. 

Vietnam only managed to collect 11 gold, 7 silver and 16 bronze medals who came 4th place. Singapore in 5th place with 5-12-20 (gold-silver-bronze) medals. The Philippines won 2 silver and 3 bronze medals to place 6th overall and in last place was Brunei with a lone bronze.
