The 3rd ASEAN School Games was held in Singapore, Singapore. Philippines won its first ever gold medal while Brunei got no medal as they had only two teams who participated in the races, the first time since the start of ASEAN School Games started. The games was held from June 30 to July 8, 2011.Twelve (12) sports were contested at the second edition of ASG which included the sports of Badminton, Basketball, Golf, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netball, Sepak Takraw, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track and Field, and Water Polo (Boys only).
The logo for the 3rd ASEAN School Games comprises a torch with 10 tongues of flame, symbolizing the 10 ASEAN member countries.
The logo, in ASEAN colors of blue, red, white and yellow, is also reminiscent of a lion head, representing the host country, Singapore.Thailand regained its overall championship from Malaysia by topping the medal tally of the 2011 ASEAN School Games (ASG) with 29 gold medals closely followed by host Singapore with 26 gold medals. 2010 champion Malaysia dropped its rank to third place with 21 gold medals.
