Malaysian Diver Qualifies to Paris Olympics


 
Bertrand Rhodict Lises of Malaysia secures his place to the 2024 Paris Olympics after finishing 10th in the Semi Final in Diving Men's 10m Platform event at the World Aquatics Championships held in Fukuoka on Friday, 21st July 2023. 
 
According to rules, only the top 12 in the individual event will get a spot to the Paris Olympics 2024.
 
Bertrand is the first Malaysian athlete and 5th from SEA region to qualify to the Paris Olympics.
 
Malaysia is expected to qualify more athletes in diving, cycling and badminton. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Malaysia won 1 silver and 1 bronze medals courtesy of Azizulhasni Awang in cycling and men's doubles Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik in badminton respectively.

Malaysia has never won yet their first ever Olympic gold medal.
