The Philippine Women's National Football team a.k.a.
"Filipinas" has stunned host New Zealand at the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, 1-0, as they recorded their first ever win at
the World Cup stage on Tuesday, July 25.
It was Sarina Bolden who scored the lone goal of the match at
the 24th minute. Aside from the historic victory, Olivia McDaniel won the Player of the Match award after a stellar performance in the match against the host.
The Philippines who is in Group A now has 3 points and stays alive for a chance to advance to the next phase. Philippines next and final group stage match is against Norway on Sunday, July 30.
