Three of our Southeast Asian chess players competed at the recently concluded 2022 FIDE World Blitz Women’s Chess Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The FIDE Women's World Blitz Championship is a 17-round Swiss tournament taking place from 29–30 December 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The prize fund is $150,000, with a $40,000 top prize.
Philippines' Woman Grandmaster Janelle Mae Frayna finished 24th out of 99 competitors with 10 points while Singapore's WGM Gong Qianyun finished in 29th place with 9.5 points. Meanwhile, WIM Foudzi Siti Zulaikha of Malaysia ended 89th place with 6 points.
