#SEAGames2023 News | Malaysia Women's Basketball Team Starts Preparation


The Malaysian national women's team is Taiwan-bound in preparation for the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia next year. 
 
Fourteen members of the squad is accompanied by their new team head coach Tarcy York.
 
The squad is composed of Yap Fook Yee, Pang Hui Pin, Chong Yin Yin, Magdalene Low Phey Chyl, Rajintiran Kalamaithi, and Foo Suet Ying.
 
Also part of the team are Hon Ai Wen, Toh Ke Hui, Tan Sin Jie, Saw Wei Yin, Carmen Chan, Tai Chia Qian, Chia Mun Yi, and Lee Phei Ling.
 
Tan Ee Shya, head coach of the Selangor women’s team, and coach Adrian Wong, former assistant coach with the KL Dragons were additions to the coaching staff of the team.
 
The training in Taiwan will include friendly games with Jinou Girls High School, Pumen High School, Shih Hsin University, Nanhu High School, National Taiwan Normal University, Taiyuan (WSBL team) and University of Taipei. 
 
The 32nd Southeast  Asian Games will be held from May 5 to May 17 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Women's basketball team who started their training in October is eyeing their third straight gold medal finish in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games.
