#SEAGames2021 News 031 | Vietnam Targets Five Gold Medals in Shooting

Despite a lot of difficulties in preparation for the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, the national shooting team of Vietnam is still working hard and determined to achieve the target goal.

Vietnam's target goal is to be number one position in the shooting medal tally and to win at least five gold medals this coming May SEA Games.

The Vietnamese team gathered 28 athletes including the young and new faces shooters. The team is in full swing of training since January despite some struggles.

Aside from the minor struggles like bullet issues, training equipment and repairing of the Hanoi National Sports Training Center, one of Vietnam's sharp shooters and Olympic Gold medalist Hoang Xuan Vinh will not compete in the biennial gamesl. Instead, he will help and focus on the maximum training work of the team.

Therefore, the 5 gold medal-target are now on the shoulders of Ha Minh Thanh, Pham Quang Huy, Phan Cong Minh, Nguyen Xuan Chuyen, Nguyen Dinh Thanh, Phi Thu Thao, Nguyen Thu Trang and Nguyen Thu Vinh. These are the shooters where Vietnam will rely on.

As reported, the Hanoi National Sports Training Center where the SEA Games shooting events will be held, is not finished yet and the Vietnamese team is training in other places with equipment  same with the national sports center.

Vietnam's target goal is very achievable regardless of its strong rivals from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

Shooting is offering 22 gold medals and below are the 22 events to be contested in the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam this coming May.
