With just two months before the much awaited 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, the athletes that will banner the Philippine flag has been named.
Lead by 2019 SEA Games gold medalists Jeson Patrombon and Francis Alcantara, the men's squad will be composed of USA-based players Treat Huey, Ruben Gonzales and Eric Olivarez.
For the women's team, tennis ace Alex Eala will debut in the biennial meet along with newcomer Jenaila Rose Prulla. While US NCAA netter Khim Iglupas and Marian Capadocia complete the team.
Seven golds are at stake in the 31st SEA Games tennis competition
featuring men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's
doubles, mixed doubles, men's team and women's team events. The team events were not played in the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines.
The strong and competitive tennis team hopes to better their medal haul performance at the last SEA Games in 2019. Team Philippines won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals to finish 3rd overall in the tennis medal tally.
