The 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam will feature 40 sports with 526 events.
The Myanmar sports delegation plans to send around 250 athletes in 18 sports. These sports are aquatics, athletics, billiards, bodybuilding, boxing, chess, eSports, football/futsal, golf, judo, petanque, rowing, sepak takraw, shooting, taekwondo, volleyball, vovinam and weightlifting.
Aside from the sports mentioned above, Myanmar is also planning to send athletes in kurash and wushu.
Myanmar sports teams have been training since the beginning of last year, and some sports teams are on overseas training trips. Some national athletes are training in Nay Pyi Taw and Rangoon.
Recently, the Myanmar Athletics Federation held an under-18 State and Divisions Championships wherein some records were broken. The 3-day event was held at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium, Naypyidaw.
Myanmar finished 7th place overall with 73 medals including 4 gold medals at the 2019 SEA Games in Manila. They won medals mostly in the sport of arnis which is not included in the Hanoi SEA Games program.
