The Philippine National Women's Football team also known as the Malditas falls short and exits at the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2022 being held in India.
Defeated by South Korea in the semifinal match last Thursday, 2-0, the Philippines still stands high with a historic feat after reaching the semifinals for first time in Philippine football history. Aside from that, they are also qualified for the FIFA World Cup for Women 2023 to be held in Australia to be co-hosted by New Zealand.
That double historic feats happened after the Malditas defeated the Chinese Taipei team in the quarterfinal in a 4-3 penalty shootout.
Meanwhile, the other semifinal match is between Japan and China. The winner of this match will face the South Koreans for the championship round.
