Southeast Asia Win Big at Two Badminton Tournaments

Two tournaments concluded this Sunday (January 23) where Southeast Asian badminton players stood out winning several event titles.

At the Syed Modi India International held in Lucknow, India from January 18, Malaysia won two event titles including the men's doubles title courtesy of Wei Chong Man and teammate Kai Wun Tee. The duo defeated India's Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala in the finals, 21-18, 21-15.

The other event that Malaysia won in this tourney is in the women's doubles. It was the duo of Anna Ching Yik Cheong and Mei Xing Teoh that captured the championship crown from host India's Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand Pullela in the finals, 21-12, 21-13.

The other tournament that our Southeast Asian players dominated was the 2022 VICTOR Swedish Open held in Uppsala, Sweden from January 20 to 23. Singapore again displays another great performance as it won the men's doubles.
