SEA Teams Ready for Asian Cup 2022

Five Southeast Asian teams will seek its World Cup qualification in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022, which kicks off on the 20th of January in India. The five national teams are Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and 2019 SEA Games gold medalist Vietnam.

Proud qualifier Indonesia along with the Philippines and Thailand are in Group B, will battle against powerhouse Australia. While Myanmar and Vietnam will be up against Japan and Korea in Group C.

Meanwhile, host India is in Group A along with China, Chinese Taipei and Iran.

Five World Cup slots are at stake in the tournament. The top two teams in each of the three groups plus the two best third placers will advance to the quarterfinals.

Australia is already assured of a World Cup berth by virtue of co-hosting the event along with New Zealand.
