The Malaysian badminton team did well at the recently concluded VICTOR Ukraine International 2021 held in Kharkiv, Ukraine from September 7 to 10.
The team won two titles in the men's doubles and mixed doubles events.
Roy King Yap and Valeree Siow paired in the mixed doubles event and captured the top prize after defeating Germany's Johannes Pistorius and Emma Moszczynski in the finals, 21-19, 21-12.
In the men's doubles, it was Junaidi Arif with partner Muhammad Haikal who clinched the event title after beating rival team Ishaan Bhatnagar and Sai Pratheek of India in the finals, 21-15, 19-21, 21-15.
The tournament featured five events where team Malaysia reached all in the semifinals except for the women's singles event.
Other Malaysian players who reached the semifinals were Ong Ken Yon in the men's singles, Loo Bing Kun & Lwi Sheng Hao in the men's doubles and partners Low Yeen Yuan & Valeree Siow in the women's doubles.
Malaysia's next competition are the Sudirman Cup this September and the Thomas Cup in October.
