According to the statement released by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) last January 14, the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in Bangkok and Chonburi Province in Thailand from 21st to 30th of May 2021 have been postponed.
This is due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, travel restrictions and health protocols around the continent that led to the postponement. The new dates of the OCA’s 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will be from 10th to 20th of March 2022.
Meanwhile, the 6th Asian Beach Games which is to be held in Sanya, China was again postponed. The Games had initially been due to take place last year, from November
28 until December 6, before being pushed this year on April 2 to 10, 2021.
The new dates of the 6th Asian Beach Games will be determined after joint consultation between the stakeholders.
The two regional games are not cancelled but postponed only due to the global pandemic.
