Four sports were approved to be added to the initial 36 sports scheduled in the 31st Southeast Asian Games to be held in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Bowling, Esports, Ju-jitsu and Triathlon were approved by the SEA Games Federation Executive committee at the recent online meeting.

All four sports were featured at the 30th Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines.

For Esports, Dota 2, Arena of Valor and Pro Evolution Soccer were proposed to be 3 of the six games to be played at the biennial meet.

Vietnam is expected to topped the medal tally and bring its best as host despite some budget cut due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 Southeast Asian Games is set to commence on November 21 to December 2 while ASEAN Para Games will be held on December 14 to 21.

This is the second time that Vietnam will host the regional event. The first was in 2003 co-hosted by Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
