Malaysia is considered the current strongest team in the Southeast Asian Games when it comes to sport of archery.
In fact, Malaysia won 5 gold medals in the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore and another five in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games held in their home soil.
This year, the National Archery of Malaysia or NAAM will select 16 archers to be fielded for the upcoming 30th Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines.
The selection will be based on the current performance of Malaysian archers at international and local tournaments.
The selection of archers will be finalized on August before the 2019 SEA Games commence on November 30.
As of now, Malaysian national archers like Khairul Anuar Mohamad, Akmal Norhasrin and Zarif Syahir are preparing for the Archery World Championships at Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands scheduled on the 10th to16th June.
Aside from the mentioned names, also on the list are ur Aliya Ghapar, Nur Afisa Abdul Halil and Loke Shin Hui , and Juwaidi Mazuki, Zulfadhli Ruslan, Syahrizan Jafar, Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh, Iman Aisyah Norazam and Nur Aina Yasmine Halim.
