Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte has approved an additional P1 billion for the Philippines' hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
The budget allocation was known during the cabinet meeting held in Malacanang last Monday.
The P1 billion amount is an additional to the previous P5 billion that was already approved for the operations of the SEA Games and was part of the 2019 General Appropriations Act the the Chief Executive signed last month.
With the additional budget, the 30th SEA Games is expected to be more extravagant as this year's edition offers the biggest number of sports.
The Southeast Asian Games will commence on November 30 with different cluster venues such as Clark/Subic and Metro Manila.
