SEA Games 2019 News 066: Philippine Swimming United

The last time the Philippine national swimmers won gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games was in Vientiane SEA Games in 2009.

The Philippines won four gold medals courtesy of Ryan Arebalo, Daniel Coakley and the bemedalled Miguel Molina.

Since then, the Philippine swimming team was unable to win gold medal in its campaign in SEA Games editions.

After years of disorder, a good news and development happened as its national federation Philippine Swimming Inc. and other swimming organizations has started to unite for the purpose of bringing opportunities and growth  for Filipino swimmers.

But mainly, its best purpose is to produce the best swimmers for international competitions like the SEA Games.

Several weeks ago, FINA-recognized Philippine Swimming Inc. (PSI)  had its successful swimming event which welcomed Philippine Swimming League (PSL) swimmers.

With this recent development, the challenge now is the upcoming competitions such as SEA Age-group in Cambodia next month and the upcoming Southeast Asian Games which the country is hosting this November.
This small step of unification will give a better future not only for Philippine swimming itself but to all Filipino swimmers.
