SEA Games 2019 News 058: Indonesian Ice Skating Team Targets 2 Gold Medals


The Indonesian Ice Skating federation will send 14 athletes comprising of four figure skaters and ten short track speed skaters at the coming 30th Southeast Asian Games.

The federation also set a target of two gold medals and 1 silver medal at the biennial meet that will commence on November 30.

Part of their preparations is to send 24 athletes to undergo a training camp in South Korea this coming July and another training camp in Russia.

From there they will have friendly competitions before the federation selects the 10 speed skaters that will represent team Indonesia.
At the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia won 1 silver and 1 bronze medals in short speed skating. Malaysia and Thailand dominated this event.

Meanwhile in figure skating, host Philippines and rivals Malaysia and Singapore are the teams to watch out for. 
The Southeast Asian Games 2019 will be held in the Philippines which features 56 sports.
