Indonesia prepares 20 athletes for sepak takraw for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games 2019 to be held in the Philippines this November.
The twenty athletes are consisted of 12 male and 8 female athletes to represent the red and white flag.
The 12 male athletes are Rizky Abdul Rahman Pago (Gorontalo), Syamsul Akmal (Sumbar), Victoria Eka Prasetyo (Jateng), Bharata Kusuma (Riau), Herson Mohamad (Gorontalo), Saiful Rizal (Jatim) and Iwan Jakatara (Sulteng).
Also in men's division are Rezanov Kurniawan (Riau), M Hardiasnyah Mulliang (Sulsel), Hedra Pago (Gorontalo), Andi Try Sandi (Sulsel), Rezki Yusuf Djaena (Gorontalo).
While the eight female athletes are Leni (West Java), Kusnelia (South Sulawesi), Maharani Wirowati (East Java), Lena (West Java), Akyko Micheel Kapito (Central Sulawesi), Arimbi Puspa Dewi (Central Sulawesi), Early Mila Sari (Central Java) , Asmira (Riau).
The athletes are now training together with several personnel for strategic positions, psychologist, medical staffs and other necessary persons to make the training smooth sailing.
Indonesia won gold medal in men's quadrant team event at the recent Asian Games and wants to carry that winning attitude to the 30th SEA Games.
Sepak Takraw is a main stay sport in Southeast Asian Games. It is a native sport in Southeast Asian region.
