SEA Games 2019 News 017: Volleyball Venue Determined and Finalized

Volleyball venue for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games is now finalized and it will happen at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City formerly known as ULTRA.

It was earlier reported that the volleyball events were scheduled at the Smart Araneta Coliseum but found out that the venue is not available for the December biennial meet.

The venue was already booked and is set for concerts of foreign artists. This is why a new venue was chosen to cater volleyball fans.

PhilSports Arena was the venue of the inaugural edition of the AVC Asian Women's Under-23 Championships in 2015.

And speaking of Asian Women's Under-23 Championship this year, 2019 SEA Games host Philippines backed-out and will also skip the AVC Asian Senior Women's Volleyball Championship and the AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship.

Instead of competing in Asian tourneys, the Philippine women's team will just be sent to Korea and Japan to undergo intense training.
Meanwhile, 2019 SEA Games beach volleyball will happen in Subic.
