The World Bowling Youth Championships 2018 was held at Allen Park, Michigan, United States from July 24 to August 3.Our Southeast Asian teams did good performances to win medals at this year's edition.
19-year-old Nur Syazwani Sahar of Malaysia won the gold medal in the girls' all events posting a 1,294 (singles), 1,309 (doubles) and 1,334 (team) for a grand total of 3,937 pinfalls, averaging 218.72.
Clinching the bronze medal is team Philippines in the boy's team of four event.Team Philippines is composed of Ivan Malig, Kenzo Umali, Praise Gahol and Merwin Tan.The team failed to advance in the finals after a defeat from team Qatar.
Aside from the Philippines, team Malaysia also clinched bronze medal in the girls' team of four event.Team Malaysia was bannered by Nur Amirah Auni Azman, Nur Ameerahusna Aznel, Nur Syazwani Sahar and Gillian Siew Giok Lim.The Malaysian squad was overpowered by United States team in the semi finals.
Also in the competition were team Singapore and Thailand.
