This edition of world championships of badminton in Nanjing, China got no SEA athletes in the finals. Only Daren Liew of Malaysia in the men's singles and Indonesia's Greysia Polii & Apriyani Rahayu reached the semi-finals and claimed the bronze medal. The highest attainment by a Southeast Asian badminton athletes for 2018 edition.
