Squashgym International Squash Classic 2018

Two Southeast Asia squash players claimed the Squashgym International Squash Classic 2018 titles which was held in Palmerston North, New Zealand.

Malaysia’s World No.71 Ivan Yuen and Philippines World No.85 Jemyca Aribado won their respective divisions.

Yuen captured the men's title after beating top seed India’s World No.50 Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu in the final, 11-8, 11-7, 2-11, 11-7 win in 55 minutes.

This is his seventh and biggest PSA World Tour title after his last victory in 2015 at the Malaysian Tour Squash IX.

Meanwhile, Aribado claimed the PSA W5 title after she defeated New Zealand’s World No.116 Emma Millar, 11-9, 6-11, 11-7, 12-10 in 37 minutes to claim her maiden PSA World Tour title in her first final on the Tour. 

Her win becomes the first PSA World Tour title winner from the Philippines.

The other players from Malaysia were Mohd Farez Izwan, Asyraf Azan, Ong Sai Hung, Addeen Idrakie and Mohd Syafiq Kamal in men's event.

Singapore also sent a competitor in the name of Sneha Sivakumar in women's event.

The competition was held from June 7 to June 10.
