🥋 World Taekwondo - YOG Qualification

The two-day qualifying competition for the Youth Olympic Games 2018 took place on April 6 to 7 with 438 athletes from 111 participating countries in Hammamet, Tunisia.

Southeast Asian nations who participated in this qualifying tournament were Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. 
Thailand and Vietnam reached the quarter finals of the women's -49kg category. This means that they qualified an athlete depending on the rank of their athlete and Youth Olympic host Argentina's choice of event weight.

At the end of the tournament, Thailand qualified three (3) athletes while Vietnam got 1 athlete going to Buenos Aires in Argentina for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

  • Areeya Chaichana in Girls -49kg
  • Kanthinda Saengsin in Girls -55kg
  • Nareupong Thepsen in  Boys -63kg
Vietnam
  • Thi Kim Ngan Ho in Girls -49kg
