🏐 AVC Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship 2018


The AVC Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship 2018 (3rd Can Tho Open) was held in Mekong Delta city of Can Tho from April 20 with the competition of 36 players of 18 teams from 10 countries and territories
Indonesian tandem of Eka Yokebed and Ratnasari Desi failed to capture the championship title as the duo bowed to a much stronger Kazakhstan's team of Mashkova and Tsimbalova, 15-21 and 13-21 in the finals.

The defeat put the Indonesian team to second place and received silver medals.

Thailand on the other hand failed to snatch the bronze medal from Japan as they lost 21-14 and 21-14 in the third place battle. Thailand was composed of Changkham Ancharairinuch and Kawfong Sirinuch.
The four-day event was participated by teams from Vietnam, Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand and Thailand which had two teams each while Kazakhstan, Singapore and Malaysia sent one team each.

Total prize money of the tournament is 12,000 USD with the winner pocketing 2,600 USD, the runner-up received 2,000 USD and the third placer bagged 1,600 USD.
