The Karate 1 - Premier League Rotterdam 2018 was successfully held in the Netherlands from March 16-18.Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam were among the 69 countries who competed in Rotterdam.More than 600 karatekas participated at this tournament featuring 14 categories.Our Southeast Asian karatekas were among the winners of competition and our medalists were all female athletes.In the team female kata, a superb performance was shown by team Malaysia to clinch the shared bronze medal with Turkey. While the gold medal was captured by Spain while silver medal was received by Germany.In Kumite division, Srunita Sari Sukatendel of Indonesia won the silver medal in the women's -50kg kumite while Ngoan Nguyen Thi of Vietnam won a bronze medal in the women's -61kg kumite.Karate will be featured at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
