The All England Badminton Championships 2018 was successfully held at the Arena Birmingham in Birmingham, England from March 14 to 18.
Southeast Asia did not go home empty handed as Indonesian tandem of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo won the men's double title.
Gideon and Sukamuljo defeated Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen of Denmark in the finals, 21-18 and 21-17.
The two Indonesians were the only Southeast Asian players to reach semi finals.
Others were halted in the quarter finals like Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia in men's singles, the duo of Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto of Indonesia in the mixed doubles and Thailand's Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai in the women's doubles event.
