2018 Putrajaya ASTC Powerman Middle Distance Duathlon Asian Championships

The 2018 Putrajaya ASTC Powerman Middle Distance Duathlon Asian Championships was held in Dataran Putrajaya, Malaysia last March 4 and attracted duathletes from more than 10 countries.

The Philippines known for having strong competitors (in Southeast Asia) sent 7 men and 2 women duathletes in the elite or powerman division while host Malaysia competed with only 1 competitor in the men's division.
Indonesia and Singapore also participated but not in elite category.
In the men's elite category, John Chicano of the Philippines placed 3rd (bronze) after clocking 02:47:26 behind Thomas Bruins of the Netherlands (02:38:17) and Matt Smith of Australia (02:47:26) who placed first and second respectively. 

While in the women's elite, Philippines' Monica Torres clocked 03:06:42 to position herself 3rd overall. 

Annamária Eberhardt-Halász of Hungary won the event while Netherlands' Miriam Van Reijen took the second place.
