♣ Piaya Network Negros International Chess Open 2017

Another Vietnam chess player won an international chess tournament  held in Bacolod City, Philippines.

Vietnamese chess master Nguyen Duc Hoa placed third at the the Piaya Network Negros International Open 2017 which took place at the Ikthus Osborn Hall that closed last October 19.  

Nigel Short of England who beat Indian GM Srinath Narayanan in the ninth and final round claimed the top prize with 8 points. Armenian GM Karen Grigoryan placed second in this tournament with 7 points. 

Philippine woodpushers were unable to catch the top prizes.
Indian GM Srinath Narayanan shared fourth to eighth places with 6.0 points with Filipino Rogelio Antonio, Vietnamese International Master Tran Minh Thang and Philippine IMs Kim Steven Yap and Oliver Dimakiling.
