🚣‍ 17th Asian Canoe Sprint Championships 2017

The 17th edition of the Asian Canoe Sprint Championships was successfully held in Shanghai, China last October 15 to 18. 

Our Southeast Asian paddlers presence was felt after collecting couple of medals at this regional championships.

Leading the ASEAN community is Indonesia winning 5 medals and Vietnam with 3 medals. 

The only gold medalist from the Southeast Asian region was brought by Indonesia's Dayumi and Nurmeni. The tandem won the women's C-2 500m event beating the teams from Uzbekistan and Vietnam who captured silver and bronze medals respectively. 

The other Southeast Asian athletes who made podium finishes were: 

Indonesia
  • Gold - Dayumi and Nurmeni (Women's C-2 500m)
  • Silver - Spens Stuber Mehue and Marjuki (Men's C-2 200m)
  • Silver - Dayumi and Nurmeni (Women's C-2 200m) 
  • Bronze - Riska Andriani (Women's C-1 200m)
  • Bronze - Riska Andriani (Women's C-1 500m) 

Vietnam
  • Silver - Trương Thị Phương  (Women's C-1 500m) 
  • Bronze - Trương Thị Phương & Nguyễn Thị Ngân (Women's C-2 500m)
  • Bronze - Trương Thị Phương, Lê Chung Thu, Trần Thị Lan & Nguyễn Thị Ngân  (Women's C-4 200m)
