Two Southeast Asian teams competed at the Nakhon Pathom Sports Center Gymnasium, Nakhon Pathom in Thailand for available tickets at the 2018 FIVB Women’s World Championship to be held in Japan.
Actually, the qualification for Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) were divided into two groups - Group A held in Almaty, Kazakhstan and Group B in Thailand. Both events were scheduled from 20th to 24th of September.
2017 SEA Games bronze medalist Vietnam was grouped with South Korea, North Korea, Iran and 2017 SEA Games gold medalist and host Thailand in Group B. While China, Chinese Taipei, Australia, Fiji and host Kazakhstan battled in a round robin format in Group A.
Only the best two teams from each group will join host Japan at the FIVB Women’s World Championship in 2018.
Coming victorious and sweeping all games in Group A is team China and host Kazakhstan as its runner up while South Korea topped Group B followed by Thailand with a 3-1 cards. These four teams will join Japan at the 2018 FIVB Women’s World Championship.

- September 20 | Thailand 3-0 Iran (25-14, 25-15, 25-13)
- September 21 | Thailand 3-0 Vietnam (25-17, 25-17, 25-17)
- September 22 | Vietnam 0-3 North Korea (21-25, 22-25, 20-25)
- September 23 | Vietnam 0-3 South Korea (21-25, 13-25, 16-25)
- September 23 | Thailand 3-0 North Korea (25-21, 25-21, 25-19)
- September 24 | Vietnam 3-1 Iran (24-26, 25-22, 25-17, 25-19)
- September 24 | Thailand 0-3 South Korea (22-25, 16-25, 21-25)
