Team Philippines 🇵🇭 | Eumir Marcial (Boxing)

The 28-year old Marcial was the first Filipino boxer to punch a ticket to Paris Olympics. The 2020 Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist (M75kg) earned an outright berth to the Olympics after defeating Syria’s Ahmad Ghousoon in the semifinals at the 19th Asian Games.

Aside from the Olympic bronze medal, he also won a silver medal at the 2019 World Championships in the middleweight division. He is also a SEA Games gold medalist and ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships medalist.

In July 2020, Marcial turned pro and signed in with MP Promotions although he has pledged to continue to represent the Philippines in international amateur competitions such as the Southeast Asian Games and the Summer Olympics.

Marcial will compete in the Men's 80kg division because his previous weight class (75kg division) was dropped in the Paris Olympics.

The competition in the Men's 80kg division is scheduled on July 27 at around 11:38 pm (GMT+8).
