Alex Eala Won First-Ever Doubles Title

Alex Eala of the Philippines and doubles partner Darja Semenistaja from Latvia won over top-seed pair of Fanny Stollár of Hungary and Naiktha Bains Great Britain in the finals, 7-6, 6-3, of the ITF WTT W50 Pune held in India. This is Alex Eala's first ever doubles title and first title of the year.

Before going into the finals, the duo defeated Japanese opponents in the semifinals, 7-6, 6-3, and bested Jessie Aney of United States and Lena Papadakis of Germany in the quarterfinals, 6-4, 2-6, 10-4.

In the singles event, the two tennis sensations faced each other in the quarterfinal round where Semenistaja won over Eala, 7-6, 6-0.
