The Philippine Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) conducted a national selection tournament held in Puerto Princesa last February 22 to 26 that was participated by the best table tennis players from different clubs and university teams.
The said event is use to determine the remaining slots that will complete the line-up of the team going to the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia this May.
Already in the list are John Russell Misal, Jann Mari Nayre (who is said training in Portugal) and veteran Richard Gonzales in the men's team and Emy Rose Dael for the women's team.
After the 5-day competition, Kheith Rhynne Cruz and Edouard Valenet Imperal emerged victorious in the women's and men's events respectively. They will now join the other 10-man team that will represent Team Philippines.
Completing the men's line-up is Eljey Dan Tormis while Angel Joyce Laude, Rose Jean Fadol and Sendrina Balatbat completes the women's team
The Philippines won one silver medal at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam in the men's doubles courtesy of Richard Gonzales and John Russell Misal.
The 32nd edition of the Southeast Asian Gamesis scheduled from May 5 to 17 in Cambodia.
