#SEAGames2023 News | 9 Countries Registered in Cycling

 

According to the latest online registration of athletes for cycling, nine countries registered to compete in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.
 
These nine countries are Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam and host Cambodia.
 
The cycling competition will have 9  events - four for the road bike and five for the mountain bike events. Road race events will run from May 11 to 13 while the mountain bike events will be on May 6 to 8.
 
The five events for mountain bike include mountain bike cross-country Olympic (men’s), mountain bike cross-country Olympic (women’s), mountain bike cross-country relay (men’s and women’s), mountain bike eliminations (men’s), and mountain bike eliminations (women’s). 
 
While the four events for road bike are road criterium (men’s), road criterium (women’s), road individual mass start (men’s) and road individual mass start (women’s)

As of the moments, Southeast Asian cyclists are busy competing in international cycling tours such as Biwase Cup in Vietnam, Tour de Taiwan and Tour de Aceh.

As for host Cambodia, their cyclist are gathering at a training camp in Banteay District of Siem Reap province and urged its athletes to participate in international competitions before the Southeast Asian Games in May.
 
At the 2021 SEA Games, Vietnam topped the medal tally in cycling with four gold medals out of the twelve events.
