#SEAGames2023 News | Thailand To Miss Esports Event

The Thailand Esports Federation (TESF) has announced that they are not going to send athletes for VALORANT event in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

Thailand together with Singapore and Brunei already confirmed their non-participation in the said event in Esports in May. This is due to the late addition of the game that resulted Thailand not having enough time to prepare and finalize its VALORANT athletes. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the budget for sending more athletes.

However, the Thailand Esports Federation decided to send only two teams for the 2023 SEA Games in Esports. These are in PUBG Mobile and Attack Online 2.

With all of these, the federation still remains optimistic about the country’s chances of winning medals in the events they will be participating in.

The 32nd SEA Games will featured 9 events in Esports this coming May 2023.
