The entry by number for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games has been closed last January 27 following the 100-day countdown extravaganza held last January 25 where Secretary General of the Cambodia SEA Games Organising Committee
(CAMSOC), Vath Chamroeun, welcomed delegates from 11 countries to the
first Chef de Mission meeting at the Garden City Hotel in Phnom Penh.
Various agenda including the accommodation, transportation, medical and anti-doping aspects for the athletes, staffs and officials of the 32nd SEA Games has been discussed.
Phnom Penh will host the 32nd Southeast Asian Games along with four neighboring provinces. The Morodok Techo National Stadium will be the main hub for athletics competition as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the games. While the Morodok Techno Sports Complex caters venues for the aquatics events including swimming and diving pools. It also has badminton, table tennis and volleyball halls.
The 32nd SEA Games will feature 581 events (304 events for men, 229 for women & 58 for mixed events) with two additional demonstration sports.
With some adjustments in some sports events, some countries whose athletes are already training will be cut from list while the sports Kun Khmer which some noticed it as similar to Muay is officially included in the 49 sports for SEA Games in May.
Meanwhile, the schedule for entry by name is between February 7 to March 5.
The 32nd Southeast Asian Games will be held from May 5 to May 17 and it is the first time for Cambodia to host the SEA Games since its inception in 1959.
